Ohio State offered, Michigan State offered and Notre Dame offered.

Very fitting Michigan will go to battle against its rivals in the hunt for Nacogdoches defensive back Jaylon Lane, East Texas' scholarship leader and an Oklahoma State commit.

Lane (6-2, 185) confirmed the Wolverines have extended him a scholarship via his Twitter account. The Michigan scholarship offer is the big cornerback's 38th college football opportunity.

The Nacogdoches star now has five offers from the Big Ten on top of nine scholarships from the SEC, four from the Big 12 and other various opportunities from schools in other power conferences.

Lane committed to Oklahoma State on May 11 with 36 offers in hand at the time.

The senior corner will help make up an extremely talented Nacogdoches defensive backfield. Current sophomore Brandon Jones leads East Texas’ 2016 recruiting class with 26 offers and Corey Lane — Jaylon Lane’s younger brother — has an invitation to join the Louisiana Tech football team after graduation in 2016.

The Dragons' other starting cornerback, Tay Forest, won an honorable mention at the ETSN.fm Recruiting Combine last week.

Jaylon Lane spent the past two seasons at San Angelo Central High School where he recorded five interceptions, made 46 tackles and averaged almost 46 yards on five kickoff returns as a junior.

Michigan finished its 2013 season with a 7-6 record, including a trip to the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in Tempe, Ariz.

The program has 42 conference championships and claims 11 national championships.
