Pine Tree’s Bryce Alley Signs with UTSA

Pine Tree senior Bryce Alley signed with the University of Texas at San Antonio this past week to continue his golf career.

Alley had a stellar junior year in the spring of 2012, winning first place in seven tournaments and placing second in two more. Alley was recently named the Player of the Year by the Texas Legends Junior Golf Tour.

"It has been a great pleasure to have had the opportunity to coach a young man with Bryce's qualities," said Pine Tree boys golf coach Jody Berryhill. "He is an exceptional student-athlete and represents the qualities in an athlete all coaches look for. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him in college and beyond."

Alley was the Districdt 14-4A runner-up last season and reached his third consecutive Region II tournament. Alley then earned a trip to the state tournament.

He's a three-time all-district honoree, as well as an all-region selection as a junior and an honorable mention all-state pick each of the last two years.
