TYLER -- The Hallsvile Bobcats wrapped up a 3-0 weekend at the 22nd annual Rose City Classic with an impressive 9-1 win over perennial power Carthage on Saturday at Mike Carter Field.

Cole Anderson and Jacob Walker each had two hits and three RBIs, while Connor Reich struck out six in four solid innings in the Hallsville (4-0) win.

After Carthage took a 1-0 lead with Tyler Musgrove's sacrifice fly in the first inning, Hallsville's bats went to work with four runs in the second. Justus Fulton singled home a run, Anderson ripped a two-run single and Walker brought home another with a fielder's choice.

Anderson added to the lead with another RBI single in the fourth before Andy Guinea made it 6-1 with a run-scoring double in the fifth.

Hallsville put the game out of reach with three runs in the sixth, two coming on Walker's triple down the right-field line and the other on Reich's groundout to third.

Fulton pitched 1 2-3 innings of relief, and Texas A&M signee Ronnie Gideon recorded the final out of the game with a called third strike.

Brody Colle took the loss for Carthage, allowing five runs and six hits in four innings. He struck out four and walked one.

Hallsville, which defeated Kilgore 16-1 earlier in the day, returns to action Tuesday at Henderson.
