TYLER -- The Tyler Lee Red Raiders scored in just one inning and collected only three hits, but it was more than enough Saturday afternoon.

Lee sent 17 batters to the plate in a 12-run third inning that propelled the Red Raiders to a 12-5 win over Nacogdoches in their final game of the 22nd annual Rose City Classic at Mike Carter Field.

All three hits came in the third for Lee (4-0), which went 3-0 in its home event.

Nacogdoches (2-2) jumped out to 5-0 lead after two innings, but control problems on the mound led to the Dragons' undoing in the third. Lee benefitted from eight walks, two hit batsmen, two wild pitches and an error in the inning.

Tyler Jones, Chad Payne, Chander Hill and Ben Romines all drew bases-loaded walks. Zach Flanagan was hit by a pitch with the bases full and knocked in a run with a single, Blake Hamblett and Jones each had two-run singles and Payne drove in a run with a sac fly in the marathon inning.

The half-inning lasted almost one hour, and featured 63 pitches by four different Nacogdoches pitchers.

Lee junior pitcher Colton Carter was the beneficiary of all the run support, earning the win with four scoreless innings of relief. He did not allow a hit, stuck out five and walked two.

Nacogdoches took advantage of Lee starter Daniel Bogue's wildness early to build a five-run lead. Bogue walked three, hit two batters with the bases loaded and surrendered RBI singles to Pat Ledet and Reed Watson in the Dragons' four-run first inning.

Brigham Young doubled to lead of the second and moved to third on a wild pitch, before Bogue was relieved by Carter. Dakota Phillips followed with a sac fly RBI to give Nacogdoches a 5-0 lead.

Nacogdoches returns to the field Tuesday at Marshall, while Lee plays host to Sulphur Springs on Tuesday.
