TYLER -- It's been a while since the Lufkin Panthers have tasted defeat, and it was easy to see why in Thursday night's playoff opener against Longview. Lufkin's size, speed, and skill were all on display in a 3-1 victory over the Lobos in their Class 5A Region II bi-district match at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium -- the Panthers' 20 consecutive victory.

WHITEHOUSE -- Tatum's boys were not a happy group in the first minutes after a 1-0 loss to Mabank in the Class 4A bi-district playoff round. The Eagles played the Panthers tight for 66 full minutes at Whitehouse's Wildcat Stadium, but freshman midfielder Jacob Gonzales got the winning touch in high traffic and volleyed a bouncing ball into the goal's top right corner with 13:18 remaining.  Read Mo
