RUSK --  After surrendering a nine-point fourth-quarter lead, No. 20 Palestine Westwood turned up the heat in overtime and held on to beat Troup 56-53 in a Class 2A Region III area basketball playoff at Eagle Coliseum on Friday.

LUFKIN -- White Oak head coach Ron Boyett was concerned with how his team would perform after being off for a week.

LUFKIN -- Tatum players knew Kountze could be beaten. The Eagles proved that with a win over the Class 2A giant in early December.
