EMORY -- Scout Sanders scored four of Whitesboro's eight rushing touchdowns in a 64-39 rout of Jefferson on Friday in a Class 3A Division I area playoff at Wildcat Stadium.

Sanders scored three of his touchdowns in a wild first half that saw the two teams combine for 69 points as Whitesboro led 42-27 at the break.

Whitesboro (9-3) will face Grandview, a 49-6 winner over Hughes Springs on Friday, in the regional round next week.

Trey Hodge led Jefferson's offensive attack with 332 yards and four touchdowns passing on 17 of 28 completions. He found T.Q. Jackson for three scores, with Jackson finishing with 10 catches for 131 yards in the loss.

Hodge's other touchdown went to Kepha Luster for 56 yards in the fourth quarter.

Jefferson's season ended at 10-2.

 

Brooks Barker and Weston Hickman each scored two touchdowns for Whitesboro, which scored 28 points in the first quarter.
