That didn't take long.

Less than two days after receiving an offer from Tulsa, Alto athlete Keenen Johnson decided to commit to the Golden Hurricane program. Johnson, who primarily played quarterback and defensive back for Alto, first told the news to InsideTulsaSports.com, a Rivals.com affiliate website.

It's a nice grab for the Golden Hurricane. Johnson, despite being eliminated and missing the past two weeks of playoff football, still leads the East Texas area in rushing with 2,669 yards and 38 touchdowns on 217 carries. That's an average of 12.3 yards per carry.

Mineola quarterback Jeremiah Crawford could jump Johnson in his own playoff game against Brock tonight, but he'll need 202 yards on the ground.

Johnson also recorded three defensive interceptions during Alto's 11-1 season. As a quarterback, he only threw two in 98 pass attempts.

The athlete additionally made 42 tackles, forced three fumbles and broke up eight passes.

Johnson easily won the ETSN.fm Leader Board regular season rushing titles in both his junior and senior seasons. He got caught by Tenaha running back Cobe Caraway in the playoffs last year. Caraway put up 20 more yards in two more playoff games.

Alto's athlete won ETSN.fm Offensive Newcomer of the Year after 2014 season.

Tulsa recently completed a 6-6 regular season with first-year head coach Phillip Montgomery. The team earned an invitation to play in Shreveport's Independence Bowl against Virginia Tech on Dec. 26 to close its 2015 season.

The Golden Hurricane program finished last season 2-10.

Johnson will become eligible to formally sign with Tulsa on Feb. 3.
