ATHENS -- The Athens Hornets found a way to dominate the Rusk Eagles on Friday at Bruce Field in a 55-23 victory over the Rusk Eagles.

“I am very pleased with the way they played. I thought they kept their composure tonight,” Athens coach Paul Essary said. “We got up and they made some big plays and we did not get down. We stayed focused and I thought we did a good job of overcoming.”

With the victory, the Hornets are now 2-2 overall. They wrap up non-district Friday with a road trip to Waco Robinson.

Kickoff for the game is set for 7:30 p.m.

“They got after it and I am pleased with the way they got after it tonight,” Essary said. “They are playing up the level that they should be playing.”
