LONGVIEW -- Beckville's volleyball season ended Friday with a three-set loss to Iola, 26-24, 25-15, 25-19, in the Class 2A Region III semifinals.

The Ladycats finished the 2014 campaign with a 34-6 overall record, including two playoffs wins after a first round bye.

Carson Blair, Carley Lawhorn and Natalie Morris led the team in its final match with six kills each. The team as a whole had a kill percentage of 61.9.

Kassidy Alexander recorded a team-high 24 assists for Beckville.

The future is looking very bright for the Ladycats, however. The program will bring back nine letter winners next season.

Iola will play for the Region III crown and a state tournament berth today against Centerville at Lobo Coliseum.
