Big Second Quarter Helps Sunnyvale Sink Daingerfield in Area Round, 38-13
LINDALE -- Jose Castillo ran for a touchdown and caught a score in Sunnyvale's 38-13 win over Daingerfield on Friday night in a Class 3A Division I area round playoff.
Sunnyvale (11-1) turned a 13-10 second-half deficit into a 31-13 halftime lead, and finished the game with 28 unanswered points.
Sunnyvale will face White Oak -- a 24-9 winner over No. 9 Pottsboro on Friday night -- in the regional round in Van. The date and time is still to be determined. Daingerfield, which had won five of its last six after starting the season 0-5, finished 2015 with a 5-7 record.
Patrick Stera threw two touchdown passes in Sunnyvale's 21-point second quarter, while Sunnyvale returned an interception for a touchdown early in the second quarter.

Keylan Famby scored on a 21-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7 in the first quarter, and Sunnyvale followed with a 20-yard field goal to take a 10-7 lead.
But Cedric Arthur put Daingerfield right back in front, 13-10, on a 75-yard return for a touchdown on the ensuing kickoff.
The Tigers wouldn't add to their score after that.
