MARSHALL -- Cameron Haller ran for 212 yards and three touchdowns to surpass the 1,000-yard mark this season in Marshall's 48-21 win over Mount Pleasant on Friday night in District 16-5A action.

The Mavericks (3-4, 2-1) also posted three defensive touchdowns in the win, recovering two fumbles and a blocked punt for scores.

Haller scored on runs of 1, 36 and 89 yards, the last of which blew the game open at 41-14 early in the third quarter. He also 3 of 5 passes for 21 yards.

Coreteze Hurd, Tre Macon and Chasen Hines all scored touchdowns on defense for Marshall, with Hines' score from 75 yards away.

Demarcus Alexander added a 40-yard touchdown run for Marshall.

Mount Pleasant (1-6, 1-3) was led by J.K. Lee, who ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Stix Ottino scored the Tigers' other touchdown in the loss.

Marshall led by as much as 20 early in the second quarter after Macon's fumble return for a touchdown. Mount Pleasant responded to make it 27-14 on Ottino's touchdown with 3:30 to go in the second quarter.

The Tigers threatened to get within a touchdown when they were deep in Marshall territory, but Hines' fumble recover helped the Mavericks take a 34-14 lead into halftime.
