HALLSVILLE — In a nip-and-tuck matchup, Chapel Hill was able to pull away late in the game to extend its postseason.

The Lady Bulldogs tied the game with 4:19 remaining and went on a 12-5 run from that point to eliminate Pleasant Grove, 63-56, Monday in a Class 4A bi-district game.

The teams traded leads throughout the contest and no advantage seemed safe until the final buzzer.

The Lady Hawks, who ended their season at 20-13, scored the last six points of the third quarter to take a 43-39 lead into the fourth quarter.

Karlea Duhon brought the game within a point with her jumper at 3:14 to cut PG's lead to 54-53, and April Walker's free throw tied the game for the final time.

Daija Maddox knocked down a 3-pointer for the Bulldogs (20-11) for the final lead change, going ahead 57-54.

Brette Wacha's layup with 2:12 remaining made it 57-56, but Walker had a putback with 1:08 remaining, and Chapel Hill scored the final four points from the charity stripe.

Mykaela Alfred led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points, Kyla Moore had 11 points, and Maddox and Walker contributed 10 apiece.

Wacha poured in 27 points for the Hawks, and Faith Lipham added 13.
