SAN AUGUSTINE -- San Augustine erased a 10-point halftime deficit to lead Deweyville in the fourth quarter, but couldn't push ahead for the win.

Deweyville's Ryan Collins scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the game on a 61-yarder with 6:14 remaining to propel the Pirates to a 40-34 win at San Augustine on Friday night.

Collins had first-half touchdown runs of 5 and 3 yards. Collins' 10-yard run with 7:36 left gave Deweyville (3-0) a 32-28 lead, but San Augustine answered with a 50-yard JaMikel Roberts touchdown run for a 34-32 advantage with 6:29 to play.

Then came Collins' 61-yard game-winner 15 seconds later. Collins scored 30 of the Pirates' 40 points thanks to his four touchdown runs and three two-point conversion runs.

Roberts had a big game for San Augustine (0-2) with 12 carries for 148 yards and three touchdowns. Roberts also hurt Deweyville through the air, completing 14 of 22 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Roberts has accounted for 728 yards of total offense and 11 total touchdowns in San Augustine's first two games.

San Augustine's Dez Randle caught five passes for 92 yards and a touchdown, while J.D. Brown snagged five passes for 42 yards and a score. Jeremy Jenkins ran for 63 yards on 16 carries.

San Augustine visits Garrison on Friday.
