BECKVILLE--Beckville started district play off on the right foot.

The Ladycats remained undefeated, improving their record to 24-0 with a sweep of Elysian Fields. Beckville won the sets 25-8, 25-11 and 25-5.

Riley Seegers led the team with eight kills, while also recording two blocks. Hannah Humphries was next with seven kills and Payton Jones had six. Kindly Pepper led the team with four aces.

Next up, the Ladycats will travel to Jefferson for a matchup at 5 p.m. on Tuesday

Edgewood falls to Alba-Golden

ALBA--Edgewood took Alba-Golden to five sets, but couldn't finish the job on Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs won the fourth set 25-17 to force a fifth, but fell 16-14.

Ginny Carson led the team with 18 kills, three blocks, and 9 digs. Kenzie Chadwick wasn't far behind with 17 kills. Meanwhile, Bralee Littlejohn had two aces.

The Lady Bulldogs will face Quitman on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Carlisle sweeps Leveretts Chapel

CARLISLE--Carlisle got a sweep Friday.

It beat Leverets Chapel by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-12 to win the match.

Heather Craig and Aubrey Hart combined for 30 kills, while Haley Fears had 11 digs and five aces. Jilin Kee had 32 assists to go along with two aces.

The Indians improved to 16-11. Next, they face Gary on Tuesday.
