WHITE OAK -- Beckville had a big day at the White Oak tournament, including a two-set victory against Lufkin from Class 6A.

The Ladycats' Friday began with a 25-19, 25-16 victory against Paris North Lamar ahead of facing Lufkin. Kinley Blair led the team with eight points scored on five kills, two blocks and an ace. Riley Seegers scored seven points in the match.

Lufkin fell to Beckville, 25-14, 25-15. Blair scored a team-best 10 points, and the Ladycats earned 31 of the 50 points they needed to get past the Pack.

Beckville topped Avery, 25-9, 25-14, before calling it a day. Seegers scored seven points to lead the way.

The Ladycats return to White Oak at 11 a.m. today to face Spring Hill in the championship bracket.

 

Carlisle Edges Harmony In Five

BIG SANDY -- Carlisle survived Harmony by two points in the fifth and final set after dropping the first two frames, a 7-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-20, 15-13 victory.

Hayley Jordan led the team in its come-from-behind win with 25 points on 21 kills and four blocks. Cheyenne Vannier also finished in the top team with 29 assists and five kills.

Kyndal Martin added nine kills in the contest and saved 19 Harmony points on defense.

Carlisle will face Gladewater today at 10 a.m. as part of the Winona Tournament.

 

Rains Rocks Kaufman

EMORY -- Rains played in some tight sets, but it swept old district rival Kaufman by a score of 28-26, 25-20, 25-19 at home Friday.

Charlotte Bradshaw led the Lady Cats in scoring with her 15 kills. McKenna Hildebrandt scored 12 points on eight kills and four blocks.

Shelbi Sheppard played a hand in 29 points on assists.

Rains will face Athens today at 10 a.m. in conjunction with Gold Bracket play at Brownsboro's tournament.

 

Carthage Sweeps Arp

ARP -- Carthage cruised to a 25-15, 25-9, 25-14 win Friday at Arp.

Faith Landreneaux put up a team-best 14 kills. Kaitlyn Nutt saved 15 Arp points on defense.

Carthage will travel to Hallsville on Tuesday.
