WHITEHOUSE -- The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes began the playoffs with a dominating 81-41 rout of Rusk in their Class 4A Region II bi-district matchup Monday night at Wildcat Arena.

No. 12 Gilmer (30-3), the champions of District 15-3A, will face Brownsboro later this week in the area round of the postseason.

Rusk, the fourth-place finisher from 16-3A, ended its season at 12-16.

The Gilmer trio of Destiny Brooks, Belynda Ray, and Kyla Grant outscored the entire Rusk roster by itself with a combined 50 points.

Brooks and Ray each finished with 18 points, while Grant contributed 14.

Rusk had two players reach double figures in scoring.

Jamyah Anderson led the Lady Eagles' losing effort with 12 points, while Damayshea Hart chipped in with 10.
