GILMER -- Behind Zac Spears' three touchdowns, Gilmer captured its 20th consecutive victory dating back to last season after beating Daingerfield, 43-27, during homecoming Friday night at Jeff Traylor Stadium.

Kelton Collier ran for two touchdowns and DeMarco Boyd added scores on both sides of the ball to help the defending state-champion Buckeyes reach 4-0 to start the season.

Spears completed 9 of 20 passes for 157 yards with touchdown throws to Boyd, Kollin Hurt and Zod Heath.

Boyd scored Gilmer's final two touchdowns of the first half -- the first on a 17-yard interception return to put the Buckeyes up 28-7, and later on a 36-yard touchdown reception from Spears to give Gilmer a 35-14 lead at the break.

Spears' 16-yard touchdown pass to Hurt was the Buckeyes' only score of the second half.

Keke Chism completed 13 of 26 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns for Daingerfield (0-4), which is still searching for its first win of the season.

Denzel Mims caught eight passes for 90 yards and a touchdown, while Keylan Fomby also caught a touchdown for the Tigers. Fomby's score and a Chris Castleberry touchdown run were a part of a two-touchdown fourth quarter for Daingerfield.
