The second Division I scholarship offer in as many weeks came for Crockett 2017 ATH Lucky Daniels on Tuesday.

Daniels (5-10, 175) announced via Twitter that he received a program invitation from Lamar, which comes six days after he picked up his first offer from Texas Southern.

The Crockett WR/DB, who has had a major impact in all three phases of the game this season, is a versatile athlete that could be utilized on either offense or defense at the next level.

So far this season, Daniels has 16 receptions for 419 yards and three touchdowns. But the triple threat (offense, defense, and special teams) has six more TDs in other ways -- rushing, interceptions, and punt returns.

Crockett enters Friday's game against Frankston at 6-1 overall and 1-1 in District 9-3A Division II.

Daniels told ETSN.fm that Lamar is recruiting him as a receiver, while Texas Southern likes him more as a defensive back.

Last season, Daniels caught 53 passes for 1,266 yards and 16 touchdown in helping Crockett reach the 3A Division II quarterfinals.

At the fourth annual ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine in Tyler this past May, Daniels was one of the event’s participants. He ran a laser-timed 40-yard dash in 4.70 seconds, and tied for first among receivers with 11 bench press reps at 185 pounds.

Lamar, located in Beaumont, is an FCS member of the Southland Conference. The Cardinals, who signed Daniels' former Crockett teammate -- quarterback Case Robinson -- last February, are 3-3 overall and 3-1 in league play this season.

Daniels, like all senior high school football players, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in February.
