It's a good day to be a Baylor Bear when East Texas' top recruit commits to your university.

His profile is now flooded with congratulations and well-wishes from the Baylor community all over the country.

Cannon, listed as a top-five wide receiver in the country by multiple recruiting services, will give Baylor the two highest-ranked recruits in East Texas for the class of 2014. Liberty-Eylau's Davion Hall also is committed to Baylor. 247 Sports lists Cannon as the fifth-ranked recruit in Texas and Hall at No. 8.

The Tigers wideout enters the 2013 season with incredible numbers to try to match from 2012 -- Cannon, in 11 games, recorded 104 receptions for 1,597 yards and 25 touchdowns. A 1,000-yard season this year would give him three straight to close out his high school career.

Cannon chose Baylor over Texas Tech, Florida, Oklahoma and Ole Miss, the other four schools he listed as part of his top five earlier this week.
