Hooks' strong 2015 season ended Thursday with a 20-13 loss to Arp in the Class 3A Division II playoffs, but it wasn't all bad news for running back Reshawn Parker.

The key senior announced Oklahoma State gave him his first college football scholarship opportunity shortly after the game through his personal Twitter account.

Parker (6-1, 210) helped Hooks to a 9-1 regular season record and the District 7-3A Division II championship.

Oklahoma State is striking while the iron is hot. The Cowboys defeated popular preseason national championship pick TCU last weekend, 49-29, and advanced their own overall record to 9-0.

With the victory, the Pokes jumped to No. 8 in the College Football Playoff rankings. They also share the inside track toward a Big 12 Conference championship with Baylor.

Baylor will visit Stillwater, Okla., on Nov. 21, following the Cowboys' game Saturday at a 3-6 Iowa State team.

Mike Gundy is in the midst of his 11th season as head coach of the Oklahoma State program. It's also the former offensive coordinator's 15th year with the program overall. He spent an additional four seasons playing for the Cowboys in the late 1980s.

Gundy has only suffered one losing season as a head coach. That was his first year in 2005.

Since then, the program has enjoyed 10 straight bowl game trips -- including a Fiesta Bowl win in 2011 -- and has already ensured itself an 11th at the conclusion of this season.

Parker isn't the only Hooks player hearing from universities. Junior receiver Montrell Estell holds early offers from Kansas and Texas Tech while junior linebacker Malik Estell is another highly regarded player.
