LINDALE -- Junior Patrick Mahomes scored 15 points to lead the Whitehouse Wildcats to an impressive 65-41 victory Thursday over Pine Tree in the opener of the Lindale Hoop Heaven boys basketball tournament.

Mahomes, a quarterback on Whitehouse's football team whose season ended last Friday, made an immediate impact for the Wildcats. Jake Parker added 10 points for Whitehouse, which will face either Lufkin Hudson or Spring Hill at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the winner's bracket.

Caleb Chumley supplied a game-high 19 points in the loss for Pine Tree, which will face the Hudson-Spring Hill loser at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Tyler Lee 48, North Forney 32

Taylor Tankersley scored 26 points, knocking down four 3-pointers, in Tyler Lee's 48-32 win over North Forney on Thursday.

The win improved Lee to 6-0 on the season.

North Forney was led by Armani Watts, who had nine points.

Spring Hill 54, Lufkin Hudson 37

Clay Lattier scored 15 points with three assists and Ben Brundrett added 13 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks to lead the Spring Hill Panthers to a 54-37 victory over Lufkin Hudson on Thursday afternoon.

Spring Hill pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Hudson 24-6 down the stretch.

Lindale 49, Tyler T.K. Gorman 44

Mason Terry netted 17 points to help Lindale edge Tyler T.K. Gorman, 49-44, Thursday in the final game of the night.

Brian Boaz added 10 points for Lindale, which will face Tyler Lee at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in a winner's bracket contest.

Sean Goforth led the Crusaders with 13 points.

GIRLS

Pine Tree 47, Bullard 28

Sky Holmes had 22 points to lead the Pine Tree Lady Pirates to a convincing 47-28 win over Bullard on Thursday.

Holmes had 14 in the first quarter alone. Abby Mitchell contributed 12 points for Pine Tree, which built a commanding 30-15 halftime lead.

Brownsboro 36, Kilgore 32

Sidney Hightower scored 10 points to lead the Brownsboro Bearettes past Kilgore, 36-32, on Thursday.

Briana Warren added eight points for Brownsboro.

Tony Burks scored 16 points to lead Kilgore.

Athens 63, Henderson 51

Demi Cumby stole the show Thursday by scoring 43 points in the Athens Lady Hornets' 63-51 win over Henderson.

Cumby made 16 two-point field goals, a pair of 3-pointers and was 5 of 7 from the free throw line.

Keyah Stewart had 12 points to lead Henderson.

Lindale 51, Chapel Hill 28

Zhanelle Geathers scored 19 points to lead the Lindale Lady Eagles to a 51-28 victory over Chapel Hill in the final game of girls action on Thursday.

Neely Doss added 10 points for the tournament hosts Lindale.

D'Errica Campbell led Chapel Hill with 10 points.
