LONGVIEW -- The Pine Tree Pirates got their first win under first-year coach Kerry Lane, earning a 21-3 victory over Greenville at Pirate Stadium on Friday night.

Pine Tree (1-6, 1-2 in District 16-5A) scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters, while the defense frustrated Greenville (1-5, 0-2) all night long.

Maliq Owens scored on runs of 7 and 1 yards in the first half as Pine Tree built a 14-3 lead by halftime, while Kenny Jackson's 36-yard touchdown run in the third quarter put the finishing touches on the Pirates' win.

Greenville was held to less than 150 yards of total offense for the game.

Pine Tree is back in action next Friday night at Hallsville.
