Robertson + Courtney Lead Carthage Softball To Win At Pittsburg

PITTSBURG -- Carthage defeated Pittsburg, 8-3, Thursday thanks to two homers from Carson Robertson and a 3 for 3 performance by Kayman Courtney in its final game ahead of district play.

Robertson batted in three runners with her two home runs and, naturally, scored two runs herself. Courtney batted in three runs and crossed the plate once.

Starting pitcher Taylor Willis allowed zero earned runs for the Lady Dawgs and struck out two batters while allowing five hits. Chelcie Pierce pitched the final four innings and allowed one earned run on five hits while striking out five batters to one walk allowed.

Carthage will host Center today at 6 p.m. in its first District 16-4A game.
