DIANA -- K.J. Jeffery and Garrett Barton each ran for more than 100 yards to spearhead a powerful New Diana ground game in the Eagles' 55-6 win Friday night against Winona.

Jeffery ran eight times for 113 yards and four touchdowns, while Barton tallied 107 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Quarterback Jobie Ainsworth completed 5 of 10 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown, while rushing eight times for 43 yards and two touchdowns.

New Diana (3-0) totaled 303 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground, averaging 7.8 yards per carry.

Tim Perry had a big day on both sides of the ball. Perry caught two passes for 61 yards and a touchdown, while registering 11 tackles on defense.

Cody Holland and Cody Winn led New Diana with 15 tackles apiece. Winn forced and recovered a fumble. Brandon Wesley had 12 tackles and Tyler Morgan added seven. Wesley and Morgan had two tackles for loss apiece. Trey Villarreal finished with six tackles and a sack.

New Diana starts District 9-2A Division II play at Waskom on Friday. Winona hosts Hawkins in a District 10-2A Division II opener.
