San Augustine’s Quen’Tyvian Borders Commits to SFA
With the 2017 football season rapidly approaching, San Augustine senior receiver Quen'Tyvian Borders has made his college decision.
Borders announced via Twitter on Friday his commitment to Stephen F. Austin.
He was one of two East Texas receivers in the 2018 recruiting class to offer up commitments on Friday. Texas High's Tevailance Hunt pledged to TCU as well.
Borders (6-3, 180) is also the second local incoming senior to commit to SFA this summer, joining Center wideout JaTerious Evans, who chose the Lumberjacks two weeks ago.
The San Augustine receiver had a big 2016 season. Borders finished his junior year with 56 catches for 1,376 yards and 16 touchdowns. On defense, he made 93 tackles, had four interceptions, broke up 14 passes, and forced two fumbles.
San Augustine finished 8-5 last season, falling to district rival Carlisle in the Class 2A Division I regional semifinals.
SFA in an FCS school and member of the Southland Conference. The Lumberjacks are coached by Clint Conque, and finished last season with an overall record of 5-6.
Borders will first become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December.
