With the summer having just begun, San Augustine 2018 receiver QuenTyvian Borders has something else to celebrate: his first Division I scholarship offer.

Borders (6-3, 180) reported via Twitter on Saturday that Stephen F. Austin became the first program from the D-I ranks to offer.

The Wolves' standout performer was previously offered by Midwestern State from Division II.

SFA, which hosted a camp for prospects in Nacogdoches on Saturday, also offered Lufkin 2019 WR/DE Breylon Garcia on Saturday.

Borders had a big 2016 season for San Augustine. He finished his junior year with 56 catches for 1,376 yards and 16 touchdowns. On defense, Borders made 93 tackles, had four interceptions, broke up 14 passes, and forced two fumbles.

San Augustine finished 8-5 last season, falling to district rival Carlisle in the Class 2A Division I regional semifinals.

SFA in an FCS school and member of the Southland Conference. The Lumberjacks are coached by Clint Conque, and finished last season with an overall record of 5-6.

Borders will first become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December.
