Saturday Basketball Roundup: Tyler Grace + Laneville Boys Win Big

LANEVILLE -- Jaylon Grant scored 24 points, Tra Alexander had 22 and the Yellowjackets cruised by Leggett on Saturday, 97-51.

Ty Johnson, Ladarius Arnett and Tiarel Franklin also scored in double digits for Laneville.

Johnson picked up 13 points and 16 rebounds in the game for a big double-double. Grant had six assists in addition to his game-best in points.

Outside shooting was not a problem for the Yellowjackets. The aforementioned players scored two 3-pointers apiece for 24 points in the win.

Laneville moved to 4-1 with the win.

Tyler Grace Rolls Past Troup

BULLARD -- Tyler Grace Community clinched second place in Brook Hill's Tommy Young Classic with a 59-37 win against Troup.

Andrew Melhart connected on four 3-pointers as part of his 17-point night and Garrett Tauscher had another outstanding early season game with 13 points.

The team as a whole combined for 14 steals, nine assists and more than 14 rebounds.

Caleb Wadle led the team in the boards department with 10 in addition to five points. Christopher Wilhelmi chipped in four points and had a team-high three assists.

Caleb Culver recorded four steals and six points in the win.

Grace finished Brook Hill's tournament with a 2-1 record. The Guard won their own setup with a 3-0 record through the weekend's action.
