WHITE OAK -- The Beckville Ladycats improved to an impressive 22-0 on the season with a 3-0 performance Saturday to capture the White Oak volleyball tournament championship.

Beckville earned wins over Quitman (25-15, 25-11), Whitehouse (25-21, 25-13), and Tyler Lee (25-16, 25-23).

Riley Seegers led Beckville on the day with 15 kills, four blocks, two aces, and seven digs. Hannah Humphries added 15 kills, two blocks, and six digs, Jordan Tondreau added 12 kills, a block, two aces, and eight digs, while Payton Jones provided 11 kills, one block, five aces, an assist, and 26 digs.

Miranda Mize finished with nine kills, one block, and three digs, Kinley Pepper racked up 59 assists to go with two kills, a block, five aces, and 22 digs, while Courtlyn Nail chipped in with 37 digs.

Beckville's season resumes Tuesday at Gilmer.


Emory Rains Wins Brownsboro Tournament

BROWNSBORO -- The Emory Rains Ladycats capped off a perfect weekend with a 3-0 performance Saturday to win the Brownsboro Tournament.

Rains (16-10) defeated Bullard, 25-23, 25-20, Brownsboro, 26-24, 25-13, and Edgewood, 25-13, 25-22.

McKenna Hildebrandt led Rains against Bullard with eight kills, seven blocks, and one ace. Shelbi Sheppard added four kills, four blocks, 11 assists, one ace, and nine digs, Vivian Bradshaw collected seven assists, while Elissa Elliott chipped in with an ace and eight digs.

Against Brownsboro, Hildebrandt finished with eight kills and five blocks. Aubrey Gowin added six kills and three blocks, Sheppard provided 16 assists and six aces, while Presley McAree came up with five digs.

Jordyn Robertson led the way against Edgewood with seven kills. Hildebrandt added five kills and six blocks, Sheppard followed with four kills and 18 assists, and Summer Nerkowski finished with two aces and six digs.

Rains returns to action Tuesday at home against Caddo Mills.


Winona Wins Its Own Tournament

WINONA -- The Winona Ladycats went a perfect 6-0 this weekend to claim the championship of the Winona Tournament.

Winona took pool play victories over Big Sandy (25-18, 25-23), Lindale's JV (25-20, 25-16), and Ore City (25-9, 25-17).

The Ladycats then swept three opponents on Saturday -- Beckville's JV (25-17, 25-22), Carlisle (25-9, 25-21), and Big Sandy (25-11, 25-21).

Winona next plays Tuesday at home against White Oak.
