HALLSVILLE — Seventh-ranked Lufkin was too much for a young Texas High team in its Class 5A bi-district game Monday night.

Senior center NaTasha Mack scorched the nets for 23 points to lead the Lady Panthers, and guard Mycah McDonald added 20 in the route.

Lufkin started the game on a 13-0 run and began the other three quarters on 8-0 runs. Texas High trailed 20-12 at the end of one, 36-24 at halftime, and 55-34 entering the fourth.

The Panthers (29-1) won the battle of the glass, 49-34, with Mack pulling down 18 boards.

She continually grabbed missed shot opportunities for offensive putbacks but also stepped back for a 3-pointer.

Antonia Porter hit five 3-pointers for Texas High (18-13) and scored 25 points. She is one of six freshmen for the Tigers, who also got 10 points from Blaire Bledsoe.
