ATHENS – A steady drizzle was falling and it was 35 degrees outside, but the White Oak Roughnecks and about 150 of their fans didn’t seem to mind as they celebrated a historic victory.

MOUNT PLEASANT — In weather suited for two teams that prefer to run the football, Friday's Class 2A Division I area playoff game between New Boston and Whitesboro was decided by a pass.

PALESTINE -- Terrance Cuney rushed for 153 yards and four touchdowns to lead Jasper to a 58-20 win over Waco La Vega in their Class 3A Division I Region III area-round playoff Friday night at Wildcat Stadium.

ROYSE CITY -- It took a quarter for Chapel Hill to get adjusted to the 35-degree temperature and constant rain. But after the first 12 minutes, it was on.

CARTHAGE -- For a half, Hughes Springs had Corrigan-Camden's vaunted rushing attack figured out. Then the second half happened.

LUFKIN — The Alto Yellow Jackets had two players eclipse the 200-yard rushing mark in their Class A Division I Region III area-round playoff Thursday night.

LONGVIEW -- Gilmer's defense allowed barely two yards per play, while the special teams produced an early touchdown and won field position consistently to fuel the Buckeyes' 48-0 Class 3A Division II Region II area playoff win against Pittsburg at Pirate Stadium.
