Lufkin takes part in the annual Battle on Border showcase from Independence Stadium in Shreveport the night of Sept. 11 against one of the most stored programs in the state of Louisiana.

The Panthers' clash with West Monroe checks in at No. 11 on ETSN.fm's list of the top 25 games of 2015.

It will be the second consecutive year for Lufkin to play at the event, having squared off with John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) a season ago, falling in a 32-25 thriller.

Since the late 1990's, Lufkin is among the most winningest programs in Texas. From 1998-2006, the Panthers won an astounding 103 games, including the 2001 Class 5A Division II state championship.

Lufkin followed the state title with semifinals appearances in 2002, 2004 and 2005, eliminated by eventual champion Southlake Carroll all three years.

West Monroe, meanwhile, won eight Louisiana state titles from 1993-2011.
