AUSTIN -- Tatum's girls repeated as Class 2A champions, while San Augustine's boys placed second in Class A Division I on Saturday at the UIL state track and field championships.

But Tatum's girls and San Augustine's boys weren't the only teams to accumulate points Friday and Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

The following is a breakdown of the top team performances from East Texas at this weekend's state event.

  • Tatum girls -- 52 points (won second consecutive Class 2A state championship)
  • San Augustine boys -- 40 points (placed second in 1A D-I behind Munday's 85)
  • Newton boys -- 38 points (placed third in Class 2A)
  • Grapeland girls -- 34 points (tied for fourth in Class A Division I)
  • Texas High boys -- 33 points (placed fourth in Class 4A)
  • Jefferson boys -- 32 points (placed sixth in Class 2A)
  • Hooks boys -- 22 points (placed eighth in Class 2A)
  • Overton boys -- 22 points (ninth in Class A Division I)
