HALLSVILLE -- Bullard completed its early-season schedule against schools from larger classifications Tuesday with a very convincing 66-29 win against Hallsville on the road.

The Lady Panthers (2-1) scored 31 points in the second quarter alone and owned a commanding 44-27 lead at halftime.

Allie Kirgan's 21 points led Bullard in the win. Lauren Zachry, who scored five 3-pointers, and Sydney Foster hit double digits as well with 17 and 13 points, respectively.

Hallsville (5-2) will head to Forney on Thursday to begin the Forney Tournament. Ladycats competition will begin with a games against Red Oak and Dallas South Oak Cliff ahead of encountering Texas City, Mesquite Poteet and Alba-Golden on Friday.

Bullard moves on to the Saltillo Tournament. Competition begins Thursday against Paris North Lamar.

 

Lufkin Hudson Hands Grace First Loss

LUFKIN -- Tyer Grace Community's opening tear against public schools came to an end in Lufkin.

Hudson (1-1) enjoyed three scorers in double digits to circumvent Jordan Tauscher's game-best 25 points for a 57-49 home win.

Grace England and Baileigh Hudman scored 12 points apiece for Hudson. Mandy Hawkins added in 11 points for the winning side.

Addie Daughtry scored 14 points behind Tauscher for Grace (2-1), but no other players on the team managed more than seven points and only five players scored in total.

Hudson and Grace both will move on to the Slocum Tournament. Competition begins Thursday.

 

Winona Doubles Up Brook Hill

BULLARD -- Winona put an offensive clinic toward a 70-30 win at Bullard Brook Hill.

Daysha Hanson led the way for the Lady Wildcats with 21 points.

Nicole Garrett had perhaps the most well-rounded game. She scored 18 points and recorded three steals in the victory.

Winona (2-0) travels Friday for its next game against Quinlan Boles. Brook Hill will travel to Gladewater on Thursday to take on Union Grove.

Central Opens Season With Win Over Slocum

POLLOK -- Sophomore guard Jacob Davis scored a game-best 18 points to help Pollok Central obtain a 68-46 win at home against Slocum in its season-opening game.

Davis was not the only Bulldog to reach double digits. Ty Clifton, the team captain, chipped in 13 points and Brenden Havard added another 12 points for Central (1-0).

Slocum (1-1) was led in defeat by Taylor Hunt and his 16 points. No other Mustangs reached double figures.

Slocum and Central will both participate in Slocum's tournament this weekend. Competition begins Thursday.
