Tuesday Basketball Roundup: LaPoynor Boys Take Down Slocum + Hawkins Girls Down Beckville
ELKHART -- Taylor Hunt put up a solid 10 points for Slocum, but LaPoynor left town with a 49-28 victory Tuesday on a night of limited action ahead of final exams.
The win elevated LaPoynor to a 5-1 record. Slocum fell to 7-7 overall.
Slocum will be off for the winter break. It will resume play Dec. 28 in Tenaha's Holiday Hoops Tournament.

Hawkins Tops Beckville
BECKVILLE -- Bre Lemons paced Hawkins with 12 points and Hawkins held home court advantage in a 39-26 win against Beckville.
Chelcie Pierce and Jordan Tondreau tied for the Beckville team lead with six points each.
Beckville will resume play after the holidays with a road non-district game Dec. 29 against Union Grove.
Hawkins next hosts Fruitvale on Dec. 28.
