Rains didn't let the fact that it was on the road in its season opener stop it from coming away with a victory.

The Ladycats defeated Scurry-Rosser on Tuesday in four sets. They won their sets by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22.

Summer Nerkowski led the team with 15 kills and Elissa Elliot finished with nine. Peyton Potts and Kaitlyn McIntyre combined for 26 blocks.

Rains will next play Tuesday at home against Sunnyvale.

Carlisle takes down Longview Christian Heritage

Carlisle defeated Longview Christian Heritage in five sets on Tuesday by scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 15-8.

Heather Craig led the team with 17 kills, 11 digs, five blocks and four aces. Camden Gray and Jailin Kee had 16 digs apiece.

The Lady Indians will next compete in the Gary Tournament.

Beckville hands Nacogdoches Central Heights Loss

Beckville had no trouble with Nacogdoches Central Heights on Tuesday.

The Ladycats won in a sweep, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-6. They now turn their attention to the Denton ISD Kickoff Classic over the weekend.
