Zac Sturns Leads Alto to 42-36 Shootout Win Over Shelbyville in Final Game of Regular Season
SHELBYVILLE -- Zac Sturns accounted for 393 yards of offense and four touchdowns in Alto's 42-36 win over Shelbyville on Friday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Sturns completed 12 of 18 attempts for 255 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Jacolby Whitaker added 60 yards on the ground on seven attempts, and hauled in a 24-yard touchdown catch.
Alto (7-3) will face Harleton (7-3) in a Class A Division I Region III bi-district playoff at 7:30 p.m. Friday from West Rusk's Bruce Bradshaw Stadium in New London.
Shelbyville ended the season at 5-5.
