Bullard junior tight end Major Tennison has been committed to Texas since last October, but several of the nation's top college football programs are still in full pursuit.

Tennison (6-6, 248) picked up his 12th Division I FBS offer on Thursday evening, as LSU officially entered the mix. He made the announcement through Twitter.

The Southeastern Conference make up five of the 12 offers. In addition to LSU, Tennison also holds SEC offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Georgia. He has also been targeted by Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, SMU, and Texas Tech.

LSU, one of the country's most successful programs over the last two decades, has made Tennison the first East Texan in the 2017 recruiting class to be offered by the Tigers.

In 2015, LSU finished with a 9-3 record, which included a 56-27 win over Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl. It was the 11th consecutive winning season for head coach Les Miles, who took over the program in 2005.

Tennison caught 27 passes in 11 games last season for 603 yards. Eight receptions went for touchdowns as Bullard finished with a record of 7-4, earning a trip to the bi-district round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs.

Bullard will compete in District 9-4A D-I in 2016, along with Carthage, Center, Chapel Hill, Henderson, Kilgore, and Palestine.

Tennison, like all football recruits currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in February, 2017.
