Texas A&M-bound football player Isaiah Golden wasn't the only Carthage athlete to sign Wednesday.

Fellow defensive lineman Lane Pearce signed with Ouachita Baptist, while softball standout Mackenzie Robinson signed with Trinity Valley Community College.

Pearce is a 6-foot-7, 240-pound defensive end who moved to Carthage from DeQueen, Ark., this past offseason. Pearce was an immediate starter for the Bulldogs, who finished 11-3 with a Class 3A Division I state semifinal appearance. He accumulated 56 tackles, 11 for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery, and eight quarterback pressures in 2012.

Robinson, who moved to Carthage from Elysian Fields this past offseason, is a two-time Texas Sports Writers Association third-team all-state pitcher at the Class 2A level. She is also a five-time MaxPreps National Player of the Week.

Ouachita Baptist is a Division II program in Arkadelphia, Ark., that competes in the Great American Conference. Trinity Valley is a JUCO Division I program in NJCAA's Region XIV Conference.
