WHITEHOUSE -- The Corsicana Tigers scored all 17 points in the second quarter and held on to win in regulation and remain undefeated in District 17-5A by beating Whitehouse, 17-9, on Friday at Wildcat Stadium.

Corsicana (4-0 in district) had won all five of its last five games in overtime, tying a national record in the process. The Tigers take on Ennis next Friday in what amounts to the district championship game featuring the district's two undefeated teams.

Kishawn Kelly scored both Corsicana touchdowns, capping drives of 66 and 92 yards as part of a 15-carry, 46-yard night. Kicker Victor Cavillo added a 50-yard field goal just before the first half expired.

Tigers quarterback Blake Hoffman became the fifth straight 100-yard rusher against Whitehouse with 120 yards, mostly out of the read-option, and completed 13 of 15 passes for 94 yards with an early interception.

Whitehouse, which picked up its first district win at Nacogdoches last week, managed to get into the end zone midway through the third quarter when quarterback Jake Clemons capped a 9-play, 61-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run. Corsicana later handed the Wildcats another two points on a safety when a deep snap sailed over the punter's head and out of the end zone. Clemons completed 25 of 41 passes for 267 yard and an interception.

Whitehouse drove to the Coriscana 10 early in the fourth quarter, but a pair of 10-yard sacks and a penalty pushed the Wildcats out of field goal range and they ultimately turned the ball over on downs.

Whitehouse (1-3 in district) is at Lindale in a must-win game next Friday.
