JOAQUIN -- Hemphill left the Border Bash Tournament in Joaquin with a win for the state.

The Hornets defeated Logansport (Louisiana), 13-3, in a five-inning game and moved to 6-0 on the young season.

Catcher Garrett Ferguson had a big offensive day with a three-run home run. Tyler Davis and Andrew Wood also played major roles, combining to bat 5-for-5 with three doubles and eight RBIs.

Hemphill will open District 22-A play Tuesday against Woden.
