BROWNSBORO -- Carthage junior quarterback Jarod Blissett cracked the school record book in the Bulldogs' 55-14 victory over Brownsboro on Friday night.

Blissett tied a school mark with six touchdowns passes in the win. His name is now alongside Anthony Morgan, who fired six scoring tosses in Carthage's 2010 state-championship win over Coldspring-Oakhurst, and Blake Bogenschutz, who did it twice -- in 2012 and 2013.

The Carthage signal-caller completed 18 of 31 passes on the night for 304 yards. De'Airreus Hearn had seven catches for 173 yards and rushed for a touchdown, Jakeldric Jackson caught seven passes for 156 yards and a touchdown, while freshman Hunter Townsend had three catches for 74 yards and two scores.

Both teams are back in action next Friday night. Carthage (3-5, 2-1 in District 9-4A Division I) plays host to Palestine, while Brownsboro (1-7, 0-3) entertains Kilgore.
