Louisiana-Lafayette + Houston Next to Offer Longview’s Broderick Washington

Longview 2015 offensive lineman Broderick Washington picked up his third and fourth offers of the week when Louisiana-Lafayette and Houston came calling on Friday.

Both offers were confirmed by Longview coach John King.

Washington (6-3, 285), offered by Arkansas State and FCS-Lamar on Monday, now has four offers with more surely to come over the next few months with summer college camps on the horizon.

The Ragin' Cajuns have now offered two East Texas offensive linemen in the 2015 class after first extending an offer Lufkin's Erik McCoy.

ULL, a member of the Sun Belt Conference, went 9-4 overall and 5-2 in conference play a season ago. The Ragin' Cajuns defeated Tulane 24-21 in the New Orleans Bowl following the regular season.

Houston has offered seven East Texans in the 2015 class -- Washington, McCoy, Longview running back and Baylor commit JaMycal Hasty, Kilgore running back Kevrin Justice, Nacogdoches cornerback Jaylon Lane, Lufkin receiver and Cougars pledge Terry Mark and Tatum linebacker/safety Kyshaun Smith.

The Cougars, a member of the American Athletic Conference, went 8-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play in 2013, losing 41-24 to Vanderbilt BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham on Jan. 4.

Longview, as always, should possess one of the best offensive lines in the area this fall. Aside from Washington, the Lobos O-line also figures to consist of Division I prospects Tim Clay (6-5, 360) and Qydarius Washington (6-0, 245), who will be charged with providing running lanes for Hasty.
