Lufkin’s Key’Vantanie “KeKe” Coutee Picks Up Offer From Tulsa

Tulsa continued its offer party in East Texas on Wednesday when the Golden Hurricane made Lufkin 2015 athlete Key'Vantanie "KeKe" Coutee a recruiting target.

Coutee (5-10, 160) announced the offer form his Twitter account.

Tulsa has now offered five East Texas prospects in the last two days -- Coutee, Texas High 2015 running back Javon Thomas, Texas High 2015 receiver Jarion Anderson, New Boston 2015 athlete Jeff Gladney and Nacogdoches 2016 safety Brandon Jones.

Coutee, who decommitted from Texas back in January, currently holds four Division I FBS offers -- Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech and Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane, who will move to the American Athletic Conference this fall, struggled through a 2013 season that resulted in a 3-9 overall and 2-6 Conference USA record.

Coutee possess skills that could translate to either side of the ball at the next level. As a receiver in 2013, he led a deep Lufkin pass-catching corps with 77 receptions for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns.

Lufkin, which reached the playoffs for the 16th consecutive year last season, will compete in the new District 16-5A this fall along with Corsicana, Ennis, Jacksonville, John Tyler, Lindale, Nacogdoches and Whitehouse.
