TYLER -- Mabank scored the first nine points and never looked back in its Class 3A Region II bi-district playoff win over Spring Hill on Tuesday night.

David Marler had 18 points and 15 rebounds, leading the Panthers to the 62-46 victory at UT Tyler's Herrington Patriot Center.

The win advanced Mabank (24-8) to the area-round of the playoffs where the Panthers will face District 14-3A champion Wills Point later this week. Spring Hill concluded its season at 21-12.

Garrett Graham added 17 points and three steals for Mabank, which led by as many as 22 points in the second half. Landon Marshall contributed 10 points and six rebounds in the winning effort.

Spring Hill was led by Ben Brundrett, who finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Marshall knocked down a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Mabank a 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Sophomore Dalton Burleson's 3-point play off a putback gave Mabank a 29-15 lead late in the first half.

Marler's putback extended Mabank's lead to 47-27 late in the third quarter, and Graham's two free throws pushed the Panthers' lead to 59-37 with 2:59 remaining in the game.
