Nebraska Offers Newton’s Kevin Shorter

Newton athlete Kevin Shorter has received his 21st offer.

The 6-foot, 190-pound running back/safety told ETSN.fm on Saturday afternoon that Nebraska offered him, adding to Shorter's East Texas-leading offer list.

Shorter told ETSN.fm on Wednesday morning that Army, Clemson, Florida State, Mississippi State, Ohio State, and San Diego State had offered him, pushing his offer list to 20. Shorter's entire offer list is listed below.

Newton finished 13-1 with a Class 2A Division I Region III semifinal appearance in 2012 as Shorter led the Eagles with 1,810 yards and 31 touchdowns on 151 carries, averaging 12.0 yards per carry. He caught 15 passes for 315 yards — 21.0 yards per catch — and four touchdowns.

Shorter had 58 tackles and three interceptions on the defensive side of the ball from his safety spot.
