New Boston's Jeff Gladney picked up a pair of Division I FBS offers when both North Texas and Tulsa made the Lions' 2015 athlete a target, Gladney announced via Twitter on Tuesday night.

Gladney (6-0, 174) now has six offers -- North Texas, Northern Illinois, Rice, Texas State, Tulsa and UTSA.

North Texas has been very active in East Texas of late. After signing five area prospects -- Carthage receivers Terian "Tee" Goree and O'Keeron Rutherford, Elkhart running back Jeffery Wilson, Sulphur Springs running back Willy Ivery and Pine Tree quarterback Caleb Chumley -- in February, the Mean Green currently have six offers to East Texans in the 2015 class.

In addition to Gladney, UNT has offered John Tyler receiver and Mean Green commit Rodney Bendy, Whitehouse cornerback Nate Brooks, Lufkin offensive lineman Erik McCoy, Canton defensive end Samuel Miller and Longview offensive lineman Broderick Washington. North Texas has also offered Frankston 2016 receiver Kendrick Rogers.

The Mean Green are coming off a solid 2013 season, which included a 9-4 overall record and 6-2 mark in Conference USA. UNT's Heart of Dallas Bowl victory over UNLV on Jan. 1 was the school's first bowl game appearance since 2004.

Tulsa, migrating from Conference USA to the American Athletic Conference for the 2014 season, has three offers to 2015 East Texans. And they all came Tuesday with the Golden Hurricane extending offers to Gladney, Texas High running back Javon Thomas and Texas High receiver Jarion Anderson. Tulsa went 3-9 overall and 2-6 in league play last season.

Gladney's versatility makes him an attractive target for college programs. He starred at both receiver and defensive back as a junior for New Boston. Gladney had 570 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, and was a first-team all-district selection at DB in helping lead the Lions' to their first-ever state semifinal berth.

New Boston will compete in the new District 7-3A Division I this fall along with Daingerfield, Mount Vernon, Pattonville Prairiland, Redwater and Winnsboro.
