It’s been a big opening weekend to the 2013 football season for Terian “Tee” Goree.

Carthage’s standout senior receiver snagged his seventh college offer Sunday. He told ETSN.fm that North Texas offered him.

The Mean Green join six other Division I FBS programs that have offered Goree, who holds offers from Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, ULL, ULM, and UTSA.

A few of those schools have been active recruiting Carthage players. Senior quarterback Blake Bogenschutz is committed to UTSA, while senior offensive lineman Adrian Goodacre is committed to ULL. Senior receiver O’Keeron Rutherford holds an offer from ULM.

Goree started the weekend by catching eight passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns during Carthage’s 42-28 win at Jacksonville. He accounted for all three of Bogenschutz’ touchdown throws and more than half of the standout quarterback’s 281 passing yards.

Goree’s junior season ranks among the best receiving campaigns in Carthage history. His 66 receptions were fourth in single-season program history, while his 1,271 yards and 17 touchdowns each rank second. Current Wyoming receiver Jalen Claiborne, who caught seven passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-34 Saturday loss at Nebraska, holds all three records, along with all the Bulldogs’ career receiving records.

Goree, who is 1 of 32 East Texans in the 2014 class with at least one Division I FBS offer, impressed at the ETSN.fm Football Recruiting Combine at APEC training facility in May. He measured almost 6-foot-4 in shoes and ran a laser-timed 4.58-second 40-yard dash.
