LINDALE -- Pine Tree coach Leven Barker earned his 400th career coaching victory in the Lady Pirates' 25-23, 25-20, 18-25, 25-20 win at Lindale on Friday afternoon.

"It's a good milestone. It means I've had a lot of good players and I've coached a lot of kids," Barker told ETSN.fm after the game. "Anytime you can get those 100 marks you've got to be excited about it."

McKaylla Baylor led the Lady Pirates  with 13 kills, while Sky Holmes and Devin Affenheimer added 10 and eight, respectively. Mackenzie Richardson contributed seven kills.

Emily Shelton posted 35 assists in the win, while Kennedy Sampson added 11 digs and Angel Jordan finished with nine.

Barker is in his fifth season at Pine Tree (19-5), where he has led the Lady Pirates to at least 30 wins each of the past two seasons. Pine Tree went 37-5 in 2011 and reached the second round of the Class 4A Region II playoffs.

"Any coach who says when they get close to the century marks that they're not thinking about it isn't telling the truth, Barker said. "I've been excited to get it and the kids have, too, and now we can get focused on district."

Barker came to Pine Tree in 2008 after leading Mexia, his alma mater, to a 197-91 record in nine seasons, which followed a 70-39 record in four seasons at Crockett from 1995-98.

Pine Tree visits Whitehouse at 7 p.m. Tuesday before opening District 14-4A play at Sulphur Springs next Friday.
