MESQUITE – Rachel Riestenberg dished out 32 assists and added three key kills to pace No. 2 Spring Hill to a 3-1 (25-15, 25-21, 17-25, 25-9) win over No. 10 Celina in a Class 3A Region II semifinal Friday night at Poteet High School.

The Lady Panthers (38-2) advanced to the regional finals for the first time and will take on Decatur at 1 p.m. Saturday at Poteet High School with a trip to the state tournament on the line.

Sophomore Ann Hollas hammered home 15 kills and added four blocks for Spring Hill. Junior Mikai Brown excelled at the line, finishing with three aces to accompany seven kills from the outside and a match-high 20 digs. Senior Jacey Fleet added seven kills as well to go along with 17 digs for the Lady Panthers.

Spring Hill cruised through Game 1, 25-15, behind three kills from Brown.

The Lady Panthers took a 2-0 match advantage with Hollas and Fleet finishing with five and four kills, respectively.

Celina built a 13-7 lead in Game 3 and pushed the advantage to eight points en route to a 25-17 win over Spring Hill to save off elimination.

Brown added two aces in an early 11-0 run for Spring Hill in Game 4 as the Lady Panthers clinched their spot in the finals with a decisive 25-9 win to seal the match. Hollas had six kills and a block in the game.
